Cbeyond's corporate culture is awesome! Everyone is pretty laid back and there isn't too much drama or office politics compared to a lot of places. Everyone, including all of the executives, even the CEO, are given a cubicle and no office. We have plenty of conference/meeting rooms as a side bonus of this policy, but its nice because it emphasizes the culture of ""anyone can talk to anyone""..

Great training, good people, and good money...if you can hack it

For an entry level outside sales position, Cbeyond can provide some excellent training and "trial-by-fire" experience, if you have the talent and work ethic. This position is definitely not for everyone, espcially if you do not have thick skin and tenacity, but for those willing to learn and work your butt off, it is a great place to make good money straight out of college and is an excellent jumping point into the rest of your sales career.

The turnover rate is high, but mostly because they will hire inexperienced salespeople into a very tough sales enviornment. Also, best office culture for the 20-30 crowd...work hard, play harder. I worked there for 2.5 years, and they were some of the fondest of my professional career, but I saw a lot of people come and go that just couldn't hack it, or didn't care enough to try. If you can make it at CBeyond, you can make it anywhere.

The work is hard, but it is well rewarded. I've been at the company for four years now, and I can honestly say that the opportunities for promotion are as good as I have ever seen anywhere. This is probably not the place for you if you want to coast and get paid for it. But if you want to work hard, learn a sales model that really works and be well rewarded for following it, this is the place to be.

There is no doubt that you are micromanaged for the first several months, but this is just because you are learning the system. As you pass the six month mark, you get more and more freedom.

When I called to report the outage the technician that I spoke with was professional and knowledgeable and acted with the same sense of urgency that I utilize with my business. The services were restored quickly but little did I know that C Beyond's job was not over. I can't tell you how impressed I was when the next morning you called me to tell me that you had been monitoring the circuit throughout the night and because there were some abnormal events AT&T had been notified and would be there that day to look into it.
